Salivary gland

The major salivary glands located slightly away from the oral cavity and secretions channeled through the duct into the oral cavity. The major salivary glands consist of the parotid gland is located at the bottom of the ear behind the ramus of the mandible, submandibular glands are located at the bottom and the mandibular corpus sublingualis glands located under the tongue. In addition there is also the minor salivary glands composed of labial, buccal glands, Bladin-NUHN glands, Von Ebner and weber glands.

Major salivary glands

Parotid gland is the largest salivary gland located in the anterior of the ear auricle where the position between the skin and the masseter muscle. The ducts of these glands leads to vestibulus mucosa oris at the crease between the cheek and gum above the front molar. The gland is covered by dense connective tissue and contain large amounts of amylase enzymes include lysozyme, acid phosphatase, aldolase, and cholinesterase. The main exit channel called stenon duct (Stenson) consists of a pseudo-stratified epithelium.

Submandibular are the glands that produce saliva and has the highest outflow tract (excretory ducts) which Whartoni duct which empties into the oral cavity at the base of the frenulum of the tongue, the back of the lower incisors. As well as the parotid gland, the gland is composed of dense connective tissue.

Sublingualis gland have many ducts , these ducts to channel into the oral cavity. Gland duct is called ductal Rivinus. This duct is located adjacent to the papilla of the submandibular gland duct.

Minor salivary gland

Most of the minor salivary gland is a small gland located in the mucosa or submucosa. Minor glands contribute only 5% of spending saliva within 24 hours. These glands are named based on the location or name of the expert who discovered it. Labial glands (labial glands) located on the upper lip and lower lip with acini acini-seromukus. Buccal glands (buccal glands) located on the buccal mucosa, with acini acini-seromukus. Bladin-NUHN gland (anterior lingual glands) located at the bottom tip of the tongue. Von Ebner glands (gustatory glands = albuminous gland) and Weber gland located at the base of the tongue. Von Ebner glands and Weber also called the posterior lingual glands.
